Hi, I'm Barbara, and I've created all the jewelry that you'll find on these pages. I was born on a small blue planet millions of miles from the next closest planet. However, I'm seldom lonely here. I've found lots of friends, both human and otherwise. Some of my best friends are furry and walk around on four legs (I'm not talking about you, Steve). Here is a picture of my grandpup, Lena.

My work is inspired by textures, both person-made and those occurring naturally in the environment. I use traditional metalsmithing techniques, such as soldering, forming and forging, stone setting and engraving to form texturally complex pieces of jewelry. I also like to experiment with new techniques and I’m not always great at following rules. That’s often how I discover wonderful new bits to add to my jewelry creations.

The pieces I make are also heavily influenced by personalities. I’m inspired by a laugh or smile, a turn of phrase, even how a person moves. I often make a piece with a particular person in mind, imagining how they would interact with the finished piece, how they might wear it and how it would make them feel. That person might not be the eventual owner of the piece or ever know about it, but a bit of their personality is built into it.

I hope that you will find at least one piece of jewelry here that speaks to you, that will make you feel special when you wear it. Or perhaps a piece that will become a gift for someone dear to your heart. I wish you love and peace.
